I started this today with the intention that it is the base for further work with discharge and dye. I really do love the look of a distressed surface. In silk that translates as a layered richness that has a randomness to it. I could possibly be happy with just that- without the need to include recognizable images. I am still excited with the painting and obliterating and painting again of faces. This one was going to have flowers around the head when I realized I could just revel in color and surface. As it progresses I’ll post pictures of it.
